Relocate the capital to Grand Bahama
Dear Editor,
I believe the government should give serious consideration to moving the capital of The Bahamas out of Nassau, New Providence to Grand Bahama.
New Providence is too overcrowded.? The island is only 21.1 miles long and 6.8 miles wide; yet it is home to 248,948 people.? That means a staggering 70 percent of The Bahamas' population lives in New Providence.

It seems that when things cannot possibly get any worse in Freeport, they do. For some time now the economy of Grand Bahama has been in critical condition, going from bad to worse with no indication that there will be any improvement or turnaround in the near future.
